Hebron: The Israeli occupation forces and settlers on Saturday launched extensive assaults on various areas of the occupied West Bank, leading to injuries and large-scale confrontations. These actions are perceived as part of an ongoing strategy to suppress Palestinians and disrupt their daily lives.
According to Qatar News Agency, in Hebron Governorate, there has been a significant increase in settlers’ assaults. Incidents have been reported in Yatta Badia and Masafer Yatta, where several Palestinians were injured by gunfire and physical attacks. Additionally, settlers set a vehicle on fire and uprooted olive trees in Umm Al Kheir, while homes in Wadi Al Rakheem were attacked.
The occupation forces blocked medics from entering the area and detained a foreign activist documenting the assaults. They later entered Dura town, using tear gas grenades and flashbangs on neighborhoods.
Near occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli forces wounded a young man in Beit Anan and assaulted another before arresting him at Beit Iksa’s entry. They also entered Beit Anan and Beit Duqqu, seizing a bulldozer and using tear gas and flashbangs during home raids.
In the Ramallah and Al Bireh Governorate, clashes in Deir Jarir resulted in two Palestinians being wounded by gunfire. Simultaneously, settlers burned a resident’s vehicle. In Nablus, settlers fired live ammunition in Qaryut, Burin, and Qusra villages, with occupation forces using tear gas and flashbangs in Qaryut.
Tubas Governorate saw military incursions into Tubas city, Tammoun, and Tayasir, with military vehicles entering and withdrawing without arrests. In Jericho, settlers entered the Shalal Al Auja Bedouin community, grazing sheep between Palestinian homes in attempts to displace residents.
These assaults are part of ongoing tensions in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli forces and settlers continue to impose new realities through repeated incursions, impacting Palestinian villages and farmers. These actions, violating international law and civilian rights, have intensified since the onset of Israeli aggression against Gaza on October 7, 2023.
The persistent settlement policies and military actions contribute to a state of tension for Palestinians, affecting their daily lives and exacerbating humanitarian issues, particularly for women, children, and the elderly. The situation has prompted warnings from domestic and international human rights organizations about the humanitarian impact of these practices.
