According to Qatar News Agency, Al Rayyan delivered a strong and balanced performance across all four quarters, relying on disciplined defense and swift offensive transitions to signal its intent to contend for the championship. Quarter scores were as follows: 27-22, 20-11, 25-16, and 19-22, all in favor of Al Rayyan, which finished with a commanding 20-point margin.
With the win, Al Rayyan climbed to four points with a perfect record, tying Al Shamal at the top of the standings. Al Ahli, meanwhile, sits at three points following one win and one loss.
The second round saw Al Wakrah edge Qatar SC 80-75, Al Arabi overpower Al Sadd 103-84, and Al Shamal outlast Al Gharafa 124-116 in overtime. Al Khor had a bye this round.
As Round 2 concludes, Al Rayyan and Al Shamal share the lead with four points each. Al Sadd, Al Ahli, and Al Wakrah follow with three points, while Al Arabi, Al Gharafa, and Qatar SC hold two points apiece. Al Khor sits at the bottom with one point.
League action resumes Wednesday with Al Khor facing Al Arabi, followed by Al Sadd vs. Qatar SC at Al Rayyan Arena. Thursday’s fixtures include Al Wakrah vs. Al Ahli and a highly anticipated showdown between Al Rayyan and Al Shamal at Al Gharafa Arena – a battle between the league’s co-leaders.
