Aman Center Engages in International Conference on Social Work in Kuwait


Kuwait city: The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center “Aman,” part of the Qatar Social Work Foundation, recently participated in the 54th Conference of the International Organization for Women Empowerment and Capacity Building in Kuwait. The conference, themed “Social Work in the Arab World: Reality and Aspirations,” served as a platform for discussing social protection and empowerment strategies.



According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Mariam Al Malki, a social consultant at Aman, presented a paper focusing on rapid response to crises and disasters, highlighting Qatar’s experience in social work and social protection. She underscored the role of Aman in providing key services to women, children, and victims of family breakdown due to violence.



Dr. Al Malki noted Qatar’s dedication to supporting social work, emphasizing that civil society organizations in the country offer social protection to all beneficiaries. She elaborated on Aman’s operations under the Qatar Social Work Foundation, focusing on social protection mechanisms and programs for targeted groups, including women, children, and victims of family breakdown. The center implements specific measures to prevent violence and respond effectively to at-risk cases.



Dr. Al Malki also discussed Aman’s focus on rapid crisis response, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the delivery of services to target groups through remote work.



Aman’s participation in the conference, organized in collaboration with the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, the National Society for Combating Community Violence in Kuwait, and the Kuwait Association for Social Work, demonstrates the center’s commitment to strengthening partnerships across community, regional, and international levels with various sectors.



As a member of the Advisory Council of the International Organization for Women Empowerment and Capacity Building in Kuwait, Aman focuses on staying updated on developments in the Arab region concerning the support of women, children, and family issues.



The center specializes in the protection and rehabilitation of victims of violence and family breakdown, with a focus on societal reintegration.
