APEC South Korea 2025 Highlights Free-Trade Resilience, Regional Economic Integration


Seoul: The annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, APEC South Korea 2025, kicked off on Friday in South Korea, with delegates gathering to explore ways to enhance economic cooperation and stimulate growth amid global trade volatility.



According to Qatar News Agency, over the two-day summit, participants will discuss the sustainability of free trade and the strengthening of regional economic integration. Deliberations will also focus on making the Asia-Pacific region more prosperous by reinforcing supply chains and advancing digital transformation.



In his opening address, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung called for greater solidarity among APEC economies in light of the shifting global trade order and mounting economic uncertainty.



As this year’s host, South Korea seeks to achieve a consensus outcome supported by all participants, while highlighting its national initiatives in artificial intelligence and demographic transformation.
