Ramallah – Ma’an – The Customs Police Department called on citizens not to circulate or trade in fireworks, especially with the announcement of the results of the General Secondary Certificate Examination this year approaching, due to the serious risks they pose to the safety of society and the health and safety of its members, especially children. They are promoted and sold in illegal ways as they are prohibited from circulation by law and their source is the Israeli settlements, in order to protect the security and safety of citizens.
The officer said: ‘This is out of respect and appreciation for the souls of the righteous martyrs and loyalty to the souls of those who were deprived by the occupation from obtaining a high school certificate during its war on the Strip since October 7 of last year, especially those who were martyred from high school students. The police force calls on citizens not to launch fireworks, as the number of student martyrs in the Gaza Strip has reached 9,138, while 103 students we
re martyred in the West Bank, and 357 students were arrested, since the beginning of the aggression and the Zionist occupation war on the Strip.’
The Customs Police Department will intensify its inspection tours and campaigns on shops or places suspected of selling fireworks, with its partners and the relevant security agencies, due to the real danger they pose to the lives of citizens, the waste of money and the destruction of the social fabric.
He called on citizens to report and communicate with the various communication channels of the agency that operate around the clock, whether through the toll-free number 132 or by sending messages via the official page on Facebook.
