Riyadh: Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) will participate in the 33rd meeting of the permanent committee of specialists in Islamic affairs and endowments in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which will be held from May 1-2 at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh, KSA.
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs’ delegation will be represented by Advisor to the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari, alongside head of Islamic affairs department Mohammed Jabr Al Mannai and Assistant Director-General of the General Department of Endowments Mohammed Yaqoub Al Ali.
The delegation of Qatar’s Awqaf will chair the 33rd meeting, given that the State of Qatar has the presidency of the current session of GCC.
During the meeting, specialists in Islamic affairs and endowments will discuss several working papers, research and proposals submitted by the GCC countries, in regard to exchanging scientific research and experiences in the
endowment field between member states (interactive seminars), presenting experiences in the field of Islamic affairs, a proposal to prepare a working paper on the role of the ministries of endowments and Islamic religious affairs in caring for persons with disabilities, and other emerging topics and proposals.
