House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Tuesday received at the second presidency in Ain al-Tineh Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, with whom he broached the country’s general situation and the latest political and security developments.
Speaker Berri later received the Representative of UN Women in Lebanon, Gielan El Messiri.
On the other hand, Berri cabled the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, and Speaker of the Shura Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, condemning the Israeli air strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, and offering condolences on the fallen martyrs.
In his cable, Berri said that this brutal aggression confirms that the Israeli entity, through its crimes and continuous aggression, represents a blatant example of organized state terrorism.
