China Launches New Satellite to Test Advanced Communication Technologies


Doha: China successfully launched a new communications technology test satellite into space on Tuesday from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province, southwestern China. The launch center announced that the satellite was lifted into orbit at 2:09 AM (Beijing time) aboard a Long March-3C rocket and successfully reached its designated orbit.



According to Qatar News Agency, the satellite will primarily be used to conduct tests verifying the performance of high-speed, multi-band communication technologies. This launch marks the 575th mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
