China announced Tuesday the resumption of issuance of various types of visas to foreigners for the first time in three years, since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, starting Wednesday. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the decision was taken, in order to facilitate cross-border travel further. The lifting of this latest border measure, which was aimed at protecting against COVID-19, comes after the Chinese authorities announced last month their victory over a significant increase in the number of infections recently.
