Doha: The Diamond League Council announced that the 2026 Tours will kick off in Doha on May 8.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Council explained that the competition will return stronger next year in 15 cities around the world, starting in Doha and concluding in the Belgian capital, Brussels, with two-day competitions on September 4 and 5.
The statement added that the Chinese rounds of Xiamen and Shanghai will be held respectively on May 16 and 23, as the third Asian leg. The African leg will be held in Rabat, Morocco, on May 31, before the first European race of the season in Rome in the first week of June. This will be followed by three rounds in Stockholm, Oslo, and Paris, before moving to the United States for the Eugene leg. Then, it will return to Europe for the Monaco, London, Lausanne, Silesia, Poland, and Zurich leg. The rounds will conclude in Brussels with the Diamond League Final.
The Council approved 14 races and competitions for men and women, for each of the 15 designated rounds around the world.
The Diamond League Council confirmed that the 2025 rounds witnessed great success in terms of audience attendance, with more than 400,000 spectators in attendance in 15 cities, while the competitions were broadcast on 170 television channels.
Last May, Doha hosted the third round, following the Chinese cities of Xiamen and Shanghai. It was ranked as one of the best rounds in terms of audience attendance and new records for track and field events for both men and women, with the participation of the world’s most prominent athletes, including Olympic, world, and continental medalists.
