Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty engaged in discussions on regional developments through telephone calls with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi, Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, Omani counterpart Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff. The conversations focused on the current situation in the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry revealed in a press release that Abdelatty emphasized the need for intensified efforts toward de-escalation and finding peaceful solutions through diplomacy and dialogue. He highlighted the importance of reducing tension and calming the situation in the region.
Abdelatty stressed that military solutions are not viable for the challenges facing the region. He pointed out the necessity of preventing the region from descending into insecurity and instability, advocating for diplomatic measures.
He further underscored the importance of ongoing constructive interaction and communication among the concerned parties. This approach aims to facilitate the return of the United States and Iran to the negotiating table, working toward a peaceful and consensual settlement. Such efforts are intended to support regional security and stability, based on mutual respect and benefit for all involved parties.
