Egypt Wins African Handball Title


Doha: Egypt’s handball team clinched the African Championship title after a 37-24 victory over Tunisia in the final, held in Kigali, Rwanda.



According to Qatar News Agency, the win marked Egypt’s fourth consecutive African title and the tenth in its history, drawing level with Tunisia’s record for the most championships won. Cape Verde claimed the bronze medal by defeating Algeria 29-23 in the third-place playoff.



Egypt, Tunisia, Cape Verde, and Algeria have all secured qualification for the 2027 IHF Men’s Handball World Championship in Germany.
