Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held separate meetings on Tuesday with European counterparts to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip, as well as regional and global developments of shared concern. Abdelatty exchanged viewpoints with his German counterpart Johann Wadephul on a raft of regional and global issues, primarily the developments in the Gaza enclave and the Palestinian cause, in addition to strengthening bilateral relations, the Egyptian Presidency reported in a statement.
According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelatty held talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon about the situation in the Gaza Strip, and regional crises in Syria, Libya, Lebanon, and Sudan, alongside enhancing cooperation in the economic and development fields.
In another meeting, Abdelatty discussed with his Dutch counterpart David van Weel the regional and global developments and apprised him of Egypt’s unwavering efforts to end the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, along with its hosting of proximity meetings between the delegations of Hamas and Israel related to the proposal recently announced by US President Donald Trump to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
In this regard, Abdelatty stressed the importance of European and global concerted efforts to step up pressure on Israel to avoid hindering the flow of humanitarian aid into the enclave.
