Cairo: The First Gulf-Arab Conference for Training and Development, organized by the International Federation for Training and Development (IFTD), commenced in Cairo on Friday. Themed "From the Gulf to the Ocean: Bridges of Knowledge and Development," the two-day event brings together representatives from Qatar and delegations from 14 other Arab countries, along with leaders and officials from various sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, the conference's opening session was graced by the presence of HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, and Dr. Nasser Al Hatlan Al Qahtani, Director General of the Arab Organization for Administrative Development. Dr. Dera Muajeb Al Dosari, President of IFTD, emphasized the conference's role in continuing the tradition of training and development initiatives previously held in Doha.
Dr. Al Dosari expressed gratitude to Egypt for hosting the conference and acknowledged the contributions of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in ensuring its success. He also thanked key figures such as HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani, the strategic partner, and HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani, Honorary President of IFTD, for their support.
The conference aims to enhance Arab human resources through efficient management and development strategies. It includes presentations on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and construction and development. Dr. Al Dosari noted that the conference's recommendations would be shared with civil service bureaus and human resources departments across the Arab world to inform policy and practice.
The opening session honored influential participants, and the conference agenda featured success stories and panel discussions aimed at aligning education with labor market demands. The goal is to ensure workforce readiness and to foster an Arab knowledge economy.
