Gaza: Five Palestinians were martyred and several others injured this evening in an Israeli occupation airstrike on central Gaza, marking a new violation of the ceasefire agreement.
According to Qatar News Agency, the strike targeted a cafe west of Deir Al Balah, killing five people and wounding several others. Earlier on Sunday, two Palestinians were martyred in another Israeli attack that struck a group of residents east of Jabalia, in northern Gaza.
The Gaza Ministry of Health announced earlier that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, ongoing since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 68,159 martyrs, with 170,203 others injured.
A ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli occupation, brokered in Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh, came into effect on the 10th of this month following approval by the Israeli government. The agreement included withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from populated areas in the Strip, return of displaced residents to northern Gaza, and implementation of a prisoner exchange as part of the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s initiative to end the war.
