Doha: The Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, in affiliation with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, inaugurated the “Illustrated Messages” art exhibition on Thursday. This event was organized in collaboration with the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara).
According to Qatar News Agency, the exhibition aims to showcase the distinctive talents and creativity of Shafallah’s members, featuring artworks that have garnered international acclaim in competitions held in 2024. “Illustrated Messages” is part of the center’s ongoing efforts to integrate and empower its members within both local and international communities.
The exhibition presents an impressive array of artworks by 120 members of the Shafallah Center and includes 13 pieces created by students from Sherborne Qatar schools. In total, 88 artworks are on display, representing a variety of styles, aesthetics, and techniques. The members had the opportunity to work on three paintings under the guidance of Qatari artist Abdullah Al Mutawa, g
aining valuable artistic experience in the process.
Maryam Al Sowaidi, Executive Director of the Center, commended the members for their creations, which reflect Qatar’s rich heritage and highlight the members’ unique capabilities. Al Sowaidi also expressed appreciation for the involvement of students from Sherborne Qatar schools and the support provided by the Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC), which played a crucial role in the exhibition’s success. This collaboration underscores the importance of public engagement with the Center and its members.
