Iraq, Turkiye FMs Discuss Range of Issues of Shared Interest


Baghdad: Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met in Baghdad on Sunday with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan to discuss a variety of subjects of shared interest, particularly the war file, which holds significant importance for both countries.



According to Qatar News Agency, addressing a press conference following the meeting, Hussein affirmed that Iraq will sign a document with Turkiye concerning the management of water, noting the existing 26 memoranda of understanding in various fields between the two countries.



For his part, Fidan highlighted that the deal Turkiye is going to sign with Iraq today on water is a first-of-its-kind between the two nations. He stressed that Turkiye fully supports Iraq in the areas of security, stability, development, and construction.
