Minister of Finance Engages in High-Level Discussion at AlUla Conference on Global Financial Safety

Doha: HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari participated in a high-level roundtable session entitled "Strengthening the Global Financial Safety Net - Rapid, Reliable Liquidity for Resilience", held on the sidelines of the AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The session focused on the importance of fortifying the Global Financial Safety Net to shield vulnerable economies and reduce the impact of crises in an increasingly interconnected global economy.

According to Qatar News Agency, participants highlighted that an effective Global Financial Safety Net encourages the adoption of sound economic policies, allowing countries to prevent crises and providing insurance mechanisms to help absorb shocks. The session also examined the significance of enhancing access to reliable, predictable, and rapid liquidity in supporting global macroeconomic and financial stability. This access is vital for creating an environment conducive to sustainable investment and social development, especially as the world faces frequent economic risks and shocks.
