Doha: HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi received a phone call on Sunday from HE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan. The call focused on the recent military escalation in the region and its serious implications for regional and international security and stability. Both parties emphasized resolving disputes through peaceful means.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs highlighted that the targeting of Qatari territory with Iranian ballistic missiles is a violation of national sovereignty and inconsistent with the principles of good neighborliness. He stated that such actions cannot be accepted under any pretext. Qatar has historically aimed to avoid regional conflicts and facilitate dialogue between Iran and the international community, but the renewed targeting of its territory threatens bilateral relations.
HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi stressed the importance of an immediate halt to escalation, calling for a return to dialogue and the predominance of reason and wisdom. He emphasized efforts to contain the crisis in a manner that preserves regional security.
HE Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan expressed Armenia's concern over the regional developments. He urged all parties involved to listen to the voice of reason and return to negotiations and diplomatic solutions to prevent further chaos.
