Minister of State for International Cooperation: Qatar Committed to Contributing to Global Efforts, Forums Addressing Humanitarian Crises, Developmental Issues

Doha: HE Minister of State for International Cooperation, Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, emphasized Qatar's commitment to contributing to global efforts and forums focused on humanitarian crises and developmental issues. During the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement, she highlighted the synergy between humanitarian and diplomatic actions that enhance bilateral ties and extend support to crisis-hit regions.

According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement, facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, involves Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Qatar. It aims to implement a psychosocial project supporting Palestinian families hosted by Qatar. HE Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, President of QRCS, praised the Minister's dedication to supporting Palestinian guests and acknowledged the UK Embassy's support in mitigating the psychological impacts of aggression on vulnerable groups.

HE Ambassador Nirav Patel of the United Kingdom to Qatar stressed the importance of collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and QRCS in providing basic psychological health services to Palestinians in Qatar. He expressed confidence in the positive impact of this partnership, noting the shared commitment of the UK and Qatar to providing essential support to affected communities.

QRCS Secretary-General, Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, highlighted the agreement's significance in offering psychosocial support to 1,500 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip who arrived in Qatar. The three-month agreement involves a financial contribution of GBP 80,000 to support psychosocial services, including community engagement, counseling, and educational activities. QRCS's relief team of 50 specialists will deliver these services as part of their external humanitarian efforts.
