Beirut: The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported Thursday morning that an Israeli airstrike on the town of Deir Siryan in southern Lebanon resulted in the death of one person of Syrian nationality due to a severe injury, while two others were wounded.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health initially announced on Wednesday that two individuals were injured in the airstrike. This incident highlights the ongoing tensions in the region despite a ceasefire agreement established on November 27.
The ceasefire agreement, which came into effect in Lebanon, required Israeli forces to withdraw from southern border villages and towns within 60 days. The Lebanese government later agreed to extend this deadline until February 18. Regardless of these agreements, the occupation army remains stationed at five points and continues to carry out violations, exacerbating the fragile situation in the area.
