Palestinian Journalist Murdered in Israel’s Airstrike on Journalists’ Tent in Southern Gaza Strip

Doha: Palestinian medical sources reported that Palestinian journalist, Ahmad Mansour, has died Tuesday, succumbing to serious injuries and burns sustained from an Israeli airstrike that targeted a journalists’ tent near Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, Monday.

According to Qatar News Agency, with this incident, the number of murdered Palestinian journalists rises to 211, alongside dozens of others either injured or detained, since the start of the Israeli genocide on October 7, 2023.

In this context, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor strongly condemned Israel’s direct, deliberate attack on a tent housing Palestinian journalists in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, on Monday, during which the Israeli occupation murdered a journalist and injured nine others.

“Israel’s deliberate targeting of Palestinian journalists is a primary objective of its genocide. This is evidenced by the series of horrific crimes committed by Israel against journalists in the Gaza Strip since the October 7, 2023, start of its genocide against Palestinians in the besieged enclave. To date, 211 journalists have been killed, and dozens more have been injured or arrested. These attacks are accompanied by systematic incitement campaigns and policies aimed at stripping journalists of their professional status, a deliberate attempt to justify their unlawful targeting and silence the voice of truth in the Gaza Strip,” Human Rights Monitor added.
