Jerusalem: The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society affirmed that the Israeli occupation continues its policy of systematic genocide inside prisons, coinciding with dangerous legislative moves in the Knesset aimed at passing a law to execute Palestinian detainees and establishing an exceptional court devoid of any judicial safeguards to prosecute detainees from the Gaza Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Society stated that Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, continues his open incitement to pursue the policy of systematic extermination inside Israeli prisons, repeatedly calling for the killing and torture of Palestinian detainees.
The organization noted that testimonies from recently released Palestinian prisoners-either upon completing their sentences or as part of the latest ceasefire agreement-reveal an unprecedented level of brutality and crimes committed against them during arrest and detention, particularly since the onset of the ongoing genocidal war.
The Society called on the international community to form an independent and comprehensive international commission of inquiry into the crimes committed against Palestinian detainees, including deliberate killings and field executions, which constitute acts of genocide.
It also pointed out that more than 9,100 Palestinian detainees remain imprisoned in Israeli occupation jails, in addition to hundreds held in detention camps run by the Israeli occupation army.
