Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received phone calls on Sunday from foreign ministers of Malta, Cyprus, Croatia, India, and Uzbekistan. The discussions centered around the military escalation in the region and its impact on regional and international security and stability, emphasizing the importance of peaceful resolutions to disputes.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Prime Minister highlighted the recent targeting of Qatari territory with Iranian ballistic missiles as a violation of national sovereignty. This act contradicts the principles of good neighborliness and is unacceptable under any pretext. He emphasized Qatar's efforts to remain neutral in regional conflicts and to foster dialogue between Iran and the international community. However, he noted that the continued targeting undermines the trust and understanding that bilateral relations are built upon.
The Prime Minister called for an immediate cessation of escalatory actions, urging a return to negotiations and the prioritization of rational approaches to contain the crisis and preserve regional security. The foreign ministers from Malta, Cyprus, Croatia, India, and Uzbekistan expressed their condemnation of the Iranian missile attack, labeling it a violation of Qatar's sovereignty, airspace, and international law, as well as a breach of the United Nations Charter.
