Qatar Announces Squad for FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025


Doha: The Qatar Football Association has announced the national squad for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, set to take place from November 3 to 27 at Aspire Academy venues and Khalifa International Stadium. This year’s tournament signifies a historic expansion, as it is the first time a FIFA youth event will feature 48 teams, competing in 104 matches over 25 days.



According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar will host five consecutive editions of the competition through 2029, transitioning the event from a biennial to an annual fixture. Qatar has been placed in Group A, alongside Italy, South Africa, and Bolivia.



Head coach Alvaro Mejia has selected a 21-player squad, comprising goalkeepers Ahmed Saber, Khaled Shukri, and Abdulrahman Khalid. Other notable players include Tamim Al Qadi, Adam Riyadh, Zaid Faisal, Sultan Al Abdulrahman, Saud Al Hamad, Issa Waleed, Saifuddin Ahmed, Sheikh Mohammed, Abdulaziz Younes, Omar Al Marzouqi, Faisal Saeed, Karam Hadi, Malik Majed, Mohammed Akram, Mostafa Khalid, Muhannad Jamil, Mohammed Abdulrahman, and Yazan Hani.



Qatar’s campaign will kick off against Italy on November 3, followed by a match against South Africa on November 6, and concluding the group stage with Bolivia on November 9.
