Doha: Qatar Tourism (QT) has revealed an extensive lineup of events for the Qatar Calendar during the holy month of Ramadan in 2026, featuring a nationwide programme focused on heritage, culture, sports, and family entertainment. The initiative aims to offer both residents and visitors a diverse array of experiences that resonate with the spiritual essence of Ramadan.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatar Calendar, which is presented by Visit Qatar, serves as the national unified platform promoting major events and activities across the country throughout the year. This initiative reinforces Qatar's image as a lively and dynamic global destination. The events during Ramadan are an integral part of Visit Qatar's ongoing strategy to support year-round tourism, with a dedicated emphasis on cultural authenticity and community involvement during this significant period.

One of the highlights of the programme is Ramadaniyat Heenat Salma, offering an immersive experience that intertwines nature, culture, and community. This event will feature farm workshops, artisan installations, live performances, Ramadan talks, Quran recitations, and wellness sessions, all set in the open air. The Qatar Calendar will also see the return of the Throwback Food Festival for its third edition at Old Doha Port, revisiting culinary themes from the 1970s to the 1990s. Barahat Ramadan Nights and Layali Msheireb at Msheireb Downtown Doha will provide unique iftar and suhoor experiences, complemented by cultural activities in a setting where modern architecture meets traditional ambiance.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is organizing a series of religious lectures titled "Noor Ramadan Lectures" at Katara Cultural Village. Meanwhile, Darb Al Saai will host the Al Razji Event, celebrating authentic Qatari traditions through crafts, traditional attire, and folk music. Garangao Night celebrations will occur across multiple locations, including Souq Waqif, The Pearl Island, Gewan Island, and Old Doha Port.

Sporting events are also on the agenda, with major tournaments such as the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2026 and the QSF 2 PSA Satellite 'Senior' (1K) Squash Tournament taking place. The equestrian calendar includes CHI Al Shaqab presented by Longines, the Longines Global Champions Tour, and the Al Shaqab Cup. Additionally, Lusail International Circuit will host the Toyota GR Yaris Qatar Season 2, and team sports will feature the Doha International Basketball Tournament for National Teams and FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers.

Cultural institutions like the National Museum of Qatar and the Qatar Preparatory School will continue their exhibitions during Ramadan, featuring "Countryside: A Place to Live, Not to Leave." The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum will present "Esports: A Game Changer."
