Tokyo: The State of Qatar actively participated in the Ukraine Mine Action Conference, which took place in Tokyo, Japan, on October 22-23. The event saw the involvement of senior representatives from over fifty nations and international organizations, underscoring the global commitment to addressing critical humanitarian issues.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by His Excellency Ambassador Jaber Jaralla Al Marri, Qatar’s envoy to Japan, alongside representatives from Qatar’s Ministry of Defense. This delegation’s presence at the conference highlights Qatar’s ongoing dedication to contributing to international dialogues on peace and security.
The conference was organized through a collaborative effort by the Government of Japan, the Government of Ukraine, and the United Nations. It aimed to foster awareness, strengthen partnerships, and promote international cooperation for the removal of landmines and unexploded ordnance in Ukraine. These efforts are essential in mitigating the impact of conflicts on civilian populations and restoring safe living conditions in affected territories.
