Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent a cable of congratulations to the President of the Republic of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the occasion of the Republic Day. In a separate message, HH the Amir also extended congratulations to President Alassane Ouattara of Cote d’Ivoire on his re-election for another presidential term.
According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani joined in sending congratulatory messages to both President Erdogan and President Ouattara. The Deputy Amir extended his best wishes on Turkiye’s Republic Day and congratulated Ouattara on his re-election.
HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani also conveyed congratulations to President Erdogan on the Republic Day. Meanwhile, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan.
In other developments, the 14th Conference of Heads of Arab Security Training and Rehabilitation Institutions kicked off in Doha, under the auspices of HE Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad engaged in a phone call with Sudan’s Dr. Salma Ishaq Al Khalifa, focusing on violence against women.
HE Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al-Thani met with Dr. Mohammed Ali Kuman, Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the aforementioned conference.
The Shura Council Bureau held its meeting, chaired by HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, who also met with the Egyptian Ambassador to Qatar, Walid Fahmy Al Faqi. The Ministry of Justice has initiated monitoring efforts to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering and terrorist financing regulations. This follows the Minister of Justice’s decision regarding compliance with Law No. 20 of 2019.
HE CEO of the Qatar Media Corporation, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Jassim Al-Thani, met with the French Ambassador to Qatar, Arnaud Pescheux. Additionally, the Ministry of Public Health carried out inspections targeting fast food restaurants in shopping centres and tourist areas.
Lastly, the Ministry of Municipality launched a project to apply ISO standards for sustainable, smart, and resilient cities in Doha, marked by a meeting and workshop for a joint team.
