Kuwait city: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, actively participated in the 45th Meeting of Undersecretaries Responsible for Environmental Affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which was held in Kuwait. Leading the Qatari delegation was HE Undersecretary Abdulaziz bin Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on various environmental topics, including enhancing cooperation between GCC countries in environmental protection, combating climate change, and the sustainable management of natural resources. The discussions underscored the need for collaborative efforts to address pressing environmental challenges in the region.
The meeting concluded with a series of recommendations that will be presented at the upcoming 27th meeting of GCC Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs. These recommendations aim to further solidify regional collaboration and action towards environmental sustainability.
Qatar’s participation highlighted its dedication to fostering joint Gulf environmental initiatives and supporting regional efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.
