Doha: Qatari newspapers underscored HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s participation in the Group of 20 (G20) Summit, emphasizing Qatar’s global standing due to its significant contributions to international peace, security, and cooperation. The editorials also highlighted Qatar’s efforts alongside Jordan to achieve a ceasefire and protect civilians in the Gaza Strip, following talks by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani in Amman.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq’s editorial, titled “HH the Amir… G20 Summit,” pointed out that HH the Amir’s presence at the 2024 G20 Rio de Janeiro summit, invited by Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, showcases Qatar’s global influence in promoting peace and sustainable development. The editorial praised HH the Amir’s strategic policies and emphasized Qatar’s role in conflict resolution, energy security, and humanitarian efforts.
Highlighting Qatar’s diplomatic outreach, Al-Sharq
noted HH the Amir’s planned visits to Costa Rica and Colombia post-G20 summit to strengthen bilateral relations and address regional and international issues. The paper detailed the meetings with leaders to explore cooperation opportunities.
Al-Raya, in its editorial titled “Qatar-Jordan Coordination to Stop the Aggression,” focused on Qatar and Jordan’s collaboration to safeguard civilians in the Gaza Strip and avert regional conflict escalation. The editorial reported on the discussions led by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in Amman, centering on Gaza and Lebanon’s developments, particularly ensuring humanitarian aid access. The paper emphasized Qatar’s unwavering support for Palestinian rights and the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
