Al-Raya newspaper emphasized that Qatar’s economy continues to achieve record-breaking numbers, underscoring its strength and resilience on the international stage. The dynamic nature of Qatar’s economy, characterized by its flexibility and diversity, has enabled it to maintain a leading position among regional economies and secure advanced rankings in global indicators.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya reported that the National Planning Council has announced a remarkable milestone in Qatar’s development journey, with the country ranking 9th globally in the 2025 Global Competitiveness Report released by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD). This marks the first time Qatar has entered the top ten in this prestigious ranking, highlighting the effectiveness of its long-term national policies and the successful implementation of the Third National Development Strategy aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The editorial from Al-Raya further elaborated on Qatar’s high ranking in the report, noting that it is a testament to the nation’s strong and well-developed economy. The Global Competitiveness Report evaluates the performance of 67 economies across more than 330 indicators, covering four main themes: economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency, and infrastructure. The editorial described the ranking as a meaningful reflection of Qatar’s effective long-term policies, which are closely aligned with national development strategies and vision goals.

Al-Watan highlighted Qatar’s top global ranking in 14 sub-indicators, including youth and overall unemployment rates, consumption and income tax rates, and various aspects of economic and social reforms. The newspaper emphasized that Qatar’s data-driven policy approach, which empowers the private sector and promotes a governance system based on performance and transparency, has reinforced its leading position in competitiveness and sustainable development both regionally and globally.
