Doha: The Qatar Chamber (QC) participated in the second edition of the Government Procurement Plan Forum 2025, organized by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank, and Qatar Chamber, and runs until Nov. 6, 2024. HE QC Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani emphasized that this annual meeting serves as a strategic platform for collaboration between government entities and the private sector, where upcoming projects are introduced, thereby promoting transparency and encouraging public-private cooperation.
According to Qatar News Agency, Sheikh Khalifa highlighted the forum’s role in enabling the private sector to identify opportunities, allowing them to plan and effectively engage in project execution. He stressed the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in government tenders, noting that their involvement in government projects exemplifies the country’s dedication to a robust public-private partnership, w
hich is vital for achieving sustainable development goals.
Sheikh Khalifa further noted that local company involvement in government projects fosters innovation and leverages private sector expertise, enhancing efficiency. This collaboration boosts the competitiveness of the Qatari economy and generates new employment opportunities. He also remarked that the forum’s outcomes extend beyond economic strengthening, as announced projects create new investment avenues and contribute to the Qatar National Vision 2030’s realization by stimulating long-term growth and sustainability.
