Doha: Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) inaugurated a state-of-the-art automotive and spare parts logistics hub at the Umm Alhoul Free Zone, marking a significant enhancement in Qatar’s regional mobility leadership. This launch is pivotal for expanding the capabilities of the mobility industries cluster within the free zones.
According to Qatar News Agency, the hub’s opening is part of a strategic partnership between QFZ and Alfardan Automotive, formalized in 2021, with a shared goal of advancing Qatar’s mobility capabilities. The facility, located near Hamad Port-which is recognized as the Gulf’s leading container port-covers 67,000 square meters with a built-up area of 12,860 square meters.
The hub specializes in automotive and spare parts logistics, supporting passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and heavy equipment. It offers a wide range of logistics services, including indoor and outdoor vehicle storage for up to 1,500 units and temperature-controlled bays for luxury vehicles.
Key features include a Pre-Delivery Inspection center with 24 work bays for inspection, quality checks, and accessories installation, alongside a 5,800-square-meter warehouse for premium tires, batteries, lubricants, and paints. Advanced logistics and inventory management systems are integrated to optimize import and storage operations, positioning the hub as a crucial catalyst for growth in Qatar’s automotive and mobility logistics sector.
HE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Faisal Al-Thani, CEO of QFZ, emphasized the hub’s role in strengthening Qatar’s automotive sector and regional trade networks. He noted that such facilities provide world-class infrastructure to support expanding supply chains and attract investors, contributing to Qatar’s vision of becoming a leading logistics hub in the region and beyond, aligned with the National Vision 2030.
Omar Hussain Alfardan, Managing Director of Alfardan Corporation, highlighted the hub as an extension of Alfardan Automotive’s legacy in Qatar’s luxury automotive market. He remarked that the hub enhances operational capabilities and supports dealership networks, reflecting a shared vision for economic growth and sustainable development.
