Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index began Wednesday's trading session on a downward trend, dropping by 20.04 points or 0.18 percent to reach 10,696 points from the previous session's closure. This decline was primarily influenced by five sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Transportation sector led the downturn with a decrease of 1.00 percent. Other sectors also contributed to the decline, including Insurance, which fell by 0.35 percent, Banks and Financial Services which were down by 0.23 percent, Industrials by 0.07 percent, and Telecoms by 0.04 percent. In contrast, some sectors showed improvement, with Consumer Goods and Services rising by 0.48 percent and Real Estate increasing by 0.23 percent.
By 10:00 am, the trading turnover had reached QAR 48.493 million, with 23.293 million shares changing hands across 2,941 transactions.
