Rome: Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stressed the importance of working to ensure that the truce in Gaza turns into a real peace. In a statement on the sidelines of the Mediterranean and Southern European Union (MED9) summit in Slovenia, Tajani emphasized the significant efforts needed, stating that Italy is actively involved and is prepared to bolster the Carabinieri presence at the Rafah crossing.
According to Qatar News Agency, Tajani confirmed that discussions on this matter have taken place with Defense Minister Guido Crosetto. He highlighted Italy’s collaborative efforts with Jordan and Egypt concerning the situation in Gaza. Tajani also announced Italy’s commitment to participating in the upcoming reconstruction conference and mentioned that a delegation will be sent to Amman for training purposes, which will include healthcare training aspects.
