Russia Claims Capture of Eastern Ukrainian Town and Significant Casualties

Moscow: Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that its forces have taken control of a town in eastern Ukraine, resulting in the reported deaths of 1,300 Ukrainian soldiers and the downing of 145 drones.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry stated that Russian troops had seized the town of Kuzminivka in the Donetsk region. The ministry further reported targeting Ukrainian forces across 137 combat zones, claiming the destruction of numerous armored vehicles, cars, artillery units, ammunition depots, and electronic warfare stations.

The ministry also detailed that Russian warplanes, drones, missile units, and artillery attacked energy infrastructure tied to Ukraine’s military-industrial complex. Additional targets included mobile equipment used for rail transport of weapons, fuel supply centers, and facilities designated for storing and launching long-range drones and missile platforms.

Since the commencement of the conflict on February 24, 2022, both Russia and Ukraine have released frequent reports of battlefield achievements or successful defense against enemy attacks. However, these claims remain unverified due to the ongoing conflict and limited access to combat zones.
