UN: Settlers Attacks Make Palestinians Daily Life Almost Impossible

Doha: The United Nations Human Rights Office in Occupied Palestinian Territory confirmed Monday that attacks by illegal Israeli settlers in the West Bank make daily life almost impossible for Palestinians. In a statement, the office said that these attacks are often carried out with the support or participation of the Israeli occupation forces, and continue to spread fear, destroy homes and livelihoods, and force Palestinians to leave their lands.

According to Qatar News Agency, the office added that these practices reinforce Israel’s declared policy of consolidating its annexation of the West Bank, in clear violation of international law, and present Palestinians with a stark choice: to leave their homes. The office noted that this comes as part of the occupation’s escalation of its campaign of forced displacement and the emptying of large swathes of the West Bank of their Palestinian residents, with entire Bedouin communities having been displaced over the past two years.

The office pointed out that 84 new settlement outposts were established in 2024, compared to four outposts in 2023, representing a steady escalation compared to an average of eight outposts annually over the past decade. The office noted that settler violence is escalating at an alarming rate, with 757 attacks recorded during the first half of 2025 alone, most of which occurred in Area C, which is increasingly being emptied of Palestinians.
