WFP Warns of Insufficient Food Aid Levels Entering Gaza

Gaza: The World Food Program (WFP) confirmed Tuesday that the quantities of food aid entering the Gaza Strip remain below required levels and do not meet the needs of the population facing famine, especially in the northern part of the Strip, because the crossings have not been fully opened.

According to Qatar News Agency, Senior Spokeswoman with the WFP Abeer Etefa said that the WFP is working to expand the distribution of food aid in Gaza to reach all those in need, but logistical obstacles and restrictions remain a major challenge.

She urged for the opening of more crossings to facilitate the unimpeded delivery of food, indicating that the supplies entering Gaza so far are sufficient for nearly half a million people for only two weeks, and that some supplies are reaching northern Gaza, but not in the quantities required.

She emphasized that the continuation of the ceasefire is vital to deliver aid to Gaza and save lives.
