12 Media Workers Killed in Israeli Strikes on Iran

Tehran: Iran announced on Thursday that at least 12 journalists and media workers have been killed in Israeli attacks on the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, a statement by Basij forces affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) indicated that the death toll among media personnel has risen to 12. The statement described the incidents as deliberate targeting of Iranian media infrastructure by Israel, aimed at 'silencing the voice of truth and suppressing the media of the Resistance Front.'

The statement further mentioned that Israeli strikes on Iranian media institutions, including the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and the Bayan Media Center, also resulted in more than 10 injuries.

Yesterday, Iranian Health Minister Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi reported that nearly 700 civilians had been killed and around 5,000 others injured over 12 days of Israeli aerial and missile strikes. The attacks were directed at nuclear facilities, scientists, researchers, and civilians, which prompted Iran to respond with missile strikes on Israeli-occupied territories, causing both human and material losses.
