2 Killed in Small Plane Crash in Western Germany

Doha: Two people were killed when a small plane crashed in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany. German police announced Monday that the light aircraft was unable to land at Bitburg Airport as scheduled last night and had lost radar contact.

According to Qatar News Agency, police and firefighters found the crashed plane and the bodies of its two passengers early this morning in a field about 6 km north of Bitburg, a town near the border with Luxembourg.

Police indicated that the causes of the accident remain unknown, and that competent authorities have launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances.
