20 Militants Killed in Two Security Operations in Northwest Pakistan

Doha: The Pakistani army announced Monday that 20 militants were killed in two security operations in northwest Pakistan. In a statement, the army said that security forces carried out the operations based on intelligence information that monitored militant movements in the Waziristan and Darra Adam Khel districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the northwest of the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, it was indicated that the militants killed belonged to banned groups. Pakistani forces have been continuing their efforts for years to eliminate armed groups entrenched in the country's mountainous borders, from which they launch attacks against security personnel and civilians.
