Doha: FIFA announced on Monday a lineup of fan events for the 2026 World Cup across host cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, aiming to build excitement ahead of the tournament. The fan events are designed to extend the tournament's atmosphere beyond the stadiums, offering an alternative for ticketless fans and complementing the matchday experience. The events will feature live match broadcasts on giant screens, musical performances, and activities tailored to each host city.
According to Qatar News Agency, FIFA is planning the largest and most geographically expansive edition of its FIFA Fan Festival, with events spanning a distance of nearly 4,000 kilometers (about 2,500 miles) across the three host nations. The official FIFA Fan Festival will be held in 13 host cities. Alongside these flagship sites, additional fan events will be organized in collaboration with local host committees in cities including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and the New York-New Jersey region. These auxiliary sites are intended to provide more opportunities for fans to gather and watch the matches.
"The FIFA Fan Festival is where football, entertainment and local culture come together to create a truly unique way for fans to experience the FIFA World Cup 2026 beyond the stadiums," said Heimo Schirgi, Chief Operating Officer, FIFA World Cup 2026. "These iconic locations will unite fans from around the world, while showcasing the distinctive spirit of each Host City through football, music, food, culture and shared moments of connection. Together with additional fan gatherings across the continent, this FIFA World Cup will deliver the most diverse, vibrant and expansive fan experience ever staged."
The Fan Festival sites will feature live concerts, interactive soccer-themed games for all ages, sponsor activations, and official FIFA stores selling licensed merchandise for the tournament.
