Post: 27 Killed, 16 Injured As Bus Plunges Into Nepal River

Nepal police announced on Friday that at least 27 people were killed and 16 others injured when a passenger bus carrying dozens of Indian tourists plunged into the Marsyangdi River in Nepal. Police spokesman Shailendra Thapa said in a statement that all 43 passengers were Indian nationals and were on their way to the capital, Kathmandu, from the tourist city of Pokhara. He pointed out that rescuers pulled out 22 people from the rising waters of the Marsyangdi River in the Tana Hoon area, about 118 kilometers from the capital, including 12 people who were seriously injured and were airlifted to Kathmandu.
