Doha: A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck southwestern Pakistan Thursday.
According to Qatar News Agency, The quake's epicenter was recorded at a depth of 40 kilometers, with tremors felt in the districts of Kalat, Wadh, and other areas of Balochistan province. Officials confirmed that no casualties or material losses were reported.
Pakistan has a history of seismic activity, with a devastating 7.6-magnitude earthquake in 2005 that claimed thousands of lives. The country is situated on the boundary between the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, making it prone to frequent earthquakes.
