4.5 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan’s Yonakuni Island


Doha: An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale struck Yonakuni Island, southwest Japan.



According to Qatar News Agency, the epicenter of the quake was 11.2 kilometers deep. No casualties or damage have been reported so far.



Japan is prone to frequent earthquakes primarily due to its geographic location at the confluence of four major plates.
