According to Qatar News Agency, the Institute of Geophysics, affiliated with the University of Tehran, reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The Institute added that the tremor occurred 12 kilometers from the village of Baluk, 26 kilometers from Kahnuj, and 24 kilometers from Faryab in Kerman province.
No reports have been received so far regarding the damages caused by the earthquake.
Iran is occasionally affected by earthquakes and tremors of varying magnitudes, due to its location above major fault lines.
