4.6-Magnitude Earthquake Hits East Timor

Lospalos: An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck on Monday the city of Lospalos in East Timor.

According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake occurred 237 kilometers northeast of Lospalos, at a depth of 35 kilometers.

There were no immediate reports of human or material losses as a result of the earthquake.

East Timor is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
