Thousands of Palestinians performed Friday prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque, amid tight military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on access to the mosque. The Department of Islamic Endowments in Jerusalem estimated that about 40,000 worshippers performed Friday prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque. The occupation forces continue to impose severe restrictions on the entry of worshippers to Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially during Fridays, and prevent thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank governorates from reaching Jerusalem to perform prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque. Since the start of the comprehensive Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, in October 2023, the occupation forces have tightened their measures at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the entrances to the Old City.
