Papua: A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Papua province in eastern Indonesia on Sunday. The epicenter of the quake was 69 kilometers northwest of Asimat, at a depth of 10 kilometers. According to Qatar News Agency, no tsunami warning has been issued in the aftermath of the earthquake. Indonesia is regularly exposed to earthquakes due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire where many tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
