5.3-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Peru

An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck the Ica province in Peru.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred 49.2 kilometers from the San Juan Bautista District at a depth of 10 kilometers.

So far, There have been no reports of casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake.

Peru experiences at least 400 noticeable earthquakes annually due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, a major area of seismic activity that stretches along the western coast of the Americas.
